Reggae Music

Reggae music is some of the most powerful music in the world.  It is one of the only genres that stays true to it’s values, and spreads a common message.  Reggae is noted for its tradition of social criticism in its lyrics, although many reggae songs discuss lighter, more personal subjects, such as love and socializing.  Reggae stays consistent in what it preaches.  In modern society or “Babylon,” we are surrounded by negative actions, vibes, people, and publicity that wears on our people.  Within this, our culture as human beings is lost and our ideals are forgotten.  In this world of stress and negative vibes, reggae music helps one find peace.  It makes one a better person by stressing equal rights, peace, one love, courage, respect, freedom, strength, loyalty, education, union, resistance and faith.  In the music itself, we bob our heads to the beat and with each half-step, we are lifted up high by the rhythm instated by the guitars and keys.  The bass line shakes us as we groove to this one of a kind music, and we become wrapped up in the powerful audiotopia reggae creates.  We learn from the music and it betters us as people.  Stand up for your rights and love all that are close to you.

“Life is one big road with lots of signs. So when you riding through the ruts, don’t complicate your mind. Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy. Don’t bury your thoughts, put your vision to reality. Wake Up and Live!” – Bob Marley
